Okay first things first, this is a semi-private and selective blog. I like a clean dash so I won’t be following everyone and their brother, and as much as I would love to write with everyone and their brother it’s not humanly possible. To not follow someone is truly nothing personal, and my ims are open if you have a plot idea regardless. If there isn't a rules page or an about (canon or not) it is highly likely I will not follow.
Grammar is nifty, so long as I can understand what’s being said, I’m not a huge stickler for it. I’m bad for typos myself and omitting words every so often, so I get it. When it comes to overall writing, I’m a fan of the longer posts. Shorter threads and I don’t really get along, I’ve tried, but I’m likely to accidentally drop them from lack of muse. If this is the case, you’re welcome to remind me that I owe you. I promise I don’t bite, you’re welcome to come to me about anything.
In regards to memes, please reblog from the source if all possible. I'm frequently mobile and it sucks to have it notifications get in the way of me seeing drafts. I also tend to keep most memes, starters. and starter calls mutuals only if only to save myself time due to aforementioned extremely busy life offline. On this note, personal blogs for the love of god do not reblog the ic posts, it’s annoying.
When it comes to NSFW things, I’m cool with it, it will be on this blog, however I won’t be writing it with people below the age of 18. Preferably I prefer any potential smut partners to be over the age of 21 based on personal comfort. I tend to follow my partner’s format, if you use a read more I will too, if not, I will tag the ever loving out of it. On the topic of other NSFW topics like gore, horror (which will be fairly prominent on this blog), and the ilk, I’ll tag it and am open to writing these mature topics with most people.
When it comes to shipping, I’m big on chemistry and am open to discussion. However it’s not everything in the world, and writing other things is cool too.

Malik grew up sheltered, extremely. His family has guarded the tomb to the Pharaoh Atem for centuries alongside two sacred items, the Millennium Rod and Necklace. Forbidden from leaving out of his father’s fears of him not following family traditions, he found himself wanting more for his life and to not follow in the tradition of Tombkeepers. However, Malik was still forced into the initiation rituals when he was 10. The end result of his hatred, his pain was an altar personality. The following year when he was 11, his sister took him to the surface world that ended in the death of his father.
For ages after he believed it was loyalists to the pharaoh that had killed his father, when it was Malik’s alter personality. The resentment eventually grew into Malik getting involved in the criminal world and founding an organization that went by many names to others, Ghouls, Rare Hunters, Jackals with the goal to eventually get revenge on the pharaoh he believed that wronged his family and finally be free.
During his teenage years running the syndicate, forgeries of various duel monster cards were created alongside numerous pieces of art. Artifacts were smuggled and sold on the black market as well in a means of funding the organization. For a short time, the organization dabbled briefly in arms dealing. It eventually led to him participating in a tournament in Domino, Japan called Battle City. Eventually he would lose the final match, his altar disappearing into the shadows from where it was born.
After returning to Egypt, Malik was eventually charged with the crimes from his time with the Ghouls after the Ceremonial Duel. Thanks to family connections within the Egyptian government, Malik got off easy with a 10 year sentence. 5 years house arrest 5 years consulting with INTERPOL and other agencies with art and antiquities related crimes. So long as he did not touch a duel disk or anything pertaining to duel monsters or Egyptian antiques without his handler, Agent Etienne Laurent's supervision.
What his handlers were not fully aware of is the extent he has utilized what remained of the Ghouls for similar affairs. Predominantly, restoration projects and retrieval of stolen artifacts from the black market.
His sentence was commuted when he turned 23 years old. Now a free man, Malik is looking forward to the future and what it finally means to be free.
who was tortured mentally and physically to save the memories of a 3000 years old Pharaoh who sacrificed himself to save his kingdom.
Malik Ishtar, who had said memories carved with a knife on his back at the age of 10, serving as a literal human memorial tablet to preserve and deliver the message - in case he will meet the Pharaoh’s soul in his lifetime. Even if he was never meant to meet the Pharaoh the carvings were still going to happen (like they did to the past generations of the Ishtars - including Malik’s father) for the possibilty that the Pharaoh might return during their lifetime. The Ishtar clan exists ever since the death of the Pharaoh, for 3000 years…
Malik Ishtar, who has the symbol of the Winged Sun carved on his upper back…
…a symbol associated with divinity, royalty and power in Ancient Egypt. The symbol was clearly carved to convey the importance and divine-status of the message that follows underneath, giving little or no regard at all to the holder of the message - the one bearing the scars.
The Tomb-keepers of the Nameless Pharaoh were born for their mission and their mission only. After delivering the memory to their Pharaoh they were no use to the world anymore and were meant to die.
Malik Ishtar, everyone, said fuck that.
He decided to end these standards with which he was born in, that fated him and the generation before him, as slaves for the memory of a king long gone.
He claimed the symbol of the Winged Sun, etched for life on his skin, as his own. He decided that he - and the generation of Tomb-keepers of the Nameless Pharaoh before him - are and have always been the ones meant to be divine, royalty and powerful.
If you don’t love him for that i don’t know what else to tell you.
